Review by hotel critic
I recently had the opportunity to stay at Heddernheimer Hof, and here's my take on it as someone constantly on the lookout for value. First off, the location is pretty ideal-just 500 meters from the U-Bahn, allowing quick access to the city while still being remote enough to escape the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is well-designed, with a nice, clean room that felt more like a small apartment. The balcony view of the trees during spring added a lovely touch. That said, I was surprised to find an additional €8 charge upon arrival, which I believe was the City Tax. It's a reminder that while the night rate of €45 is attractive, little extras can catch you off guard. Breakfast is also an added cost at €15 per person, but having access to a well-stocked kitchen for toast and drinks was helpful. The staff were accommodating, organizing taxis and providing information about local shops. While the parking situation was a bit tight one night, there's ample on-street parking available. It's a decent balance of luxury and value if you manage your expenses wisely. Just keep an eye out for those hidden fees!
