Review by hotel critic
I recently had the opportunity to stay at Heddernheimer Hof, and here’s my take on it as someone constantly on the lookout for value. First off, the location is pretty ideal—just 500 meters from the U-Bahn, allowing quick access to the city while still being remote enough to escape the hustle and bustle. The hotel itself is well-designed, with a nice, clean room that felt more like a small apartment. The balcony view of the trees during spring added a lovely touch. That said, I was surprised to find an additional €8 charge upon arrival, which I believe was the City Tax. It’s a reminder that while the night rate of €45 is attractive, little extras can catch you off guard. Breakfast is also an added cost at €15 per person, but having access to a well-stocked kitchen for toast and drinks was helpful. The staff were accommodating, organizing taxis and providing information about local shops. While the parking situation was a bit tight one night, there’s ample on-street parking available. It’s a decent balance of luxury and value if you manage your expenses wisely. Just keep an eye out for those hidden fees!
